suggesting moderation for new members

Apr 14, 2007 09:42am Helayna Total Posts: 145	I know that you want newly regisitered members to be able to contribute to the forum right away, as that is ideal. However, nearly every day when I come to this forum, there is spam ad posting, or worse…like today. Whatever controls against that kind of thing that have been set up are obviously not working. So I offer this suggestion: Could new members possibly by put on moderated status until you determine they are not spammers? It would make it a lot more pleasant for the legitimate members who visit here to not have to navigate around those obnoxious posts.

I have discussed this with the forum administrator and he agrees that new forum members must go though a sort of trial period so we can stay ahead of the spammers. This is a never ending story, believe me. Jean

I just thought I’d post the link today so that the admin could find the post and deal with it. I didn’t even realize my first post in this topic was over 2 years old. haha!
